I have just reviewed the 0 Sylvania mini netbook and frankly speaking, it is undoubtedly what you expect to get for paying so little. Should you buy it? Yes if all you wanted to use are personal productivity software, appointment scheduler, reading articles on the move etc. Weighing just 2 lbs, it is a lot lighter compared to most 10 inch netbooks.
Sylvania Netbook
Get ready for the shock - it runs the ancient Windows Ce operating system, so that should give you an insight to its computing capabilities. As its choice of Os already suggest, the Sylvania mini netbook is assuredly a personal digital assistant designed in the netbook form factor. Do not assume you can run the same software on the Sylvania mini netbook as your desktop or laptop computer. You need to find the Windows Ce versions first. That said, for just 0, the Sylvania netbook is a lot cheaper compared to many Pocket Pc or Pdas and has a nice big 7" screen.
On the other hand, if you are willing to fork out just 0 more, you can buy a 10" netbook with a current generation Intel Atom mobile Cpu, Windows 7 Starter operating principles which allows you to run most software applications (except 3D games depending on the graphics accelerator configurations). These sub 0 netbooks from Toshiba, Acer etc are a lot more versatile in terms of computing power and their 10" Lcd display is much more useful for web surfing.
By now you should be clear which mobile computing principles is more suitable for you. For students with low budgets, there is no need to think so much. Just get a cheap netbook or laptop computer and forget about playing games on it until you graduate. Besides, the potential and product life of the sub 0 mini netbook is a gamble because the maker is relatively not as well established hence you have to take a risk on how long it can last you.
